How To Exhibit at a Christmas Fair

The festive season is upon us! As we see trees and lights popping up all around us, Christmas is on everyone’s mind. ‘Tis the season to be jolly, but it’s also the time of year that everyone is thinking about decorating their house, stocking their cupboards, spending time with family and, yes, buying and giving gifts.

The first Christmas fairs and markets were held during the Late Middle Ages. Vienna’s December Market is thought to be the oldest, having first been held around 1294. Christmas fairs can be one of the most charming events of the winter season - and one of the most lucrative. Showcasing all kinds of products and services, they are an excellent opportunity to get your brand noticed (whether your business is truly Christmas-themed or not!) In the UK in 2019, 34% of adults surveyed planned on visiting a Christmas fair or market. A study by the Local Government Association indicated that, in 2017, visitors to Christmas fairs in the UK spent around £500 million. So it’s clear to see that exhibiting at a Christmas market or fair can be a huge boost to your business.

We’ve put together a list of our best selling displays that will help you maximise the effectiveness of your exhibition space at Christmas fairs:

Branded Tablecloths

If you’re showcasing food, drinks, toys or even or just looking to add the finishing touches to your display, Branded Tablecloths are an easy win. They are a great way to add an affordable but effective marketing tool to your exhibition. For those selling food or drink they make a very practical addition, as all of our tablecloths are machine washable, ensuring that those delicious delicacies won't permanently ruin your display if they get spilled.

Smaller stands at local village Christmas fairs might use a branded tablecloth as a standalone marketing tool to enhance your brand awareness; those exhibiting at larger markets or trade shows will instead use them to complement a larger display, showcasing key business materials in a modern yet impactful way.

Fabric Displays

If you’re looking for a more long-term display, for example, a display that can be used for more than just a one-time Christmas fair, then a Fabric Exhibition Stand is an excellent choice. Suited to more long-term use thanks to their increased durability, fabric displays are incredibly vivid and clear thanks to the two-phase dye-sublimation printing process where ink is fused into the weave of fabric using both heat and pressure. This process also makes the printed fabric durable and long-lasting, allowing your imagery to appear fresh and vibrant for longer compared to traditional Pop Up displays.

There is no show through or reflection with fabric displays, making them especially popular for photographers. Due to their large-scale and optional double-sided graphics, including a fabric exhibition stand to your display will allow for endless marketing and branding opportunities.

Pop Up Stands

Pop Up Stands are a popular choice to give your brand maximum backdrop coverage. These display stands create a seamless backdrop and are therefore perfect for portrait photographers, event planners and typically anyone selling a large-scale product, or a service.

The beauty of pop-up stands is that there is a perfect size and shape for every business. Our most popular configurations tend to be the straight and curved single-sided pop up stands whilst our Linked Pop-Up Stands are ideal for creating a panoramic printed exhibition backdrop within your show space. Linked Pop Up stands can also grow alongside your brand over time through the clever use of linking panels, making them an adaptable investment in your company’s exhibiting future, not just for Christmas!

Pop up stands are one of the most popular exhibition solutions available on the market. They are easy to use, portable, lightweight and great value for money.

Roller Banners

One of our most popular choices for exhibitions, trade shows and Christmas fairs, Roller Banners are available in a range of different styles and configurations. Pull Up Banners are a popular choice as they are lightweight, portable and can be put up very quickly and easily by one person. They come in single-sided and double-sided banners, as well as large-format styles for larger display spaces. Although Roller Banners are a simple marketing tool, they are one of the oldest and most traditional displays for event marketing and shouldn't be overlooked for their effectiveness.

Top Tips

  • Think About Your Messaging: When it comes to designing graphics, it’s important to keep in mind exactly what you want to showcase. A striking image can say as much, if not more, than too many words. A single focal point can be very effective, so don’t overdo it on the text and imagery.
  • Be Text Savvy: You’re going to need words somewhere on your stand. But the positioning, size and font you choose can all make a big difference to how effective your display is. Having a clear contrast of colour from text to the background is an easy way to draw visitors’ eyes to your marketing message.
  • Stay Organised: Keeping your stand neat and tidy is a must. Firstly, a tidy stand naturally feels more welcoming to visitors, who are more likely to spend time in and around your display. Secondly, it creates a more professional feel, telling customers that you care about your brand’s reputation.
  • Consider Safety: As we continue to deal with the effects of Coronavirus, showing customers that you care about their safety can make a huge impact. Think about setting up sanitiser stations and mask dispenser units around your stand. This not only reminds people to be safe, but also shows that you take your customer’s health seriously.
