How Blogging Can Raise Awareness of Your Business

Is it worth blogging? There are many benefits to blogging and the answer is yes, blogging is good for business, and yes it helps boost awareness of your company and brand.

Blogging for any business can be hard to quantify in terms of monetary value. However, blogging will, and does, end up generating sales for your business. Ultimately, blogging is a long-term strategy. You may in some cases find the day you post your blog you will see an overall increase of traffic through to your website, however, the weeks and months to come will still see that one blog post driving traffic through to your website – still generating leads.

Blogging on a frequent basis is relatively easy, but very important. It’s an inexpensive way to enhance your internet presence and helps to drive traffic to your website, resulting in more customers.

To become a good blogger, you need to ensure you are writing fresh content which is current, interesting and captivating. This will ensure your blog pages remain busy and used.

So, how can blogging help your business…?

Boost Brand Awareness

Blogging frequently will help to boost awareness of your brand. Each time you add a new page to your website, you are effectively indexing another new page, which provides you with a better chance of being found in search engines.

The more people who can find your website, the more chance you have of converting a sale.

It’s important to add new blogs to your website frequently, one a week is the suggested amount.

By adding at least one new page to your website each week you are gaining one more opportunity for you to show up in search engines and drive traffic to your website in an organic search.

It’s also one more cue to Google and other search engines that your website is current and active and they should be checking it frequently to see what new content to show.

By generating new content on your website, you are creating content that is worthy of sharing on social media networks - Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest - which will help expose your blog and your business to a brand-new audience that may not even know of you yet.

Drives Traffic to Your Website / Generates Leads

Every new blog on your website is a new chance to convert a sale. Each blog that you write and post should not only have current, interesting and relevant information but it should also have a clear call to action.

Having a clear call to action will encourage people to leave information, buy or ask a question giving your sales team a chance to develop and convert.

Often, these calls-to-action lead to things like free eBooks, whitepapers, fact sheets, webinars, trials, products or any content which someone may be willing to exchange their contact information for.

Blogs can also be used to promote newly launched products. Use the blog power to push and promote new products - it has double the impact! Not only have you added a new product page to your website, but you’ve added an entirely separate page which is dedicated to promoting that product.

You can then share this blog page on social media which will drive more traffic through and let more people know about your new product.

Boosts Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

When adding any new page to your website you should always approach it with a strategic SEO approach. If you create a new web page which is well optimised, then you are creating new ranking possibilities.

When launching a new product, you will invest a lot of time and effort in to deciding and selecting the right keywords and SEO for that product page to make it as successful as possible.

Well, it’s no different for a blog page. If you are targeting the wrong keywords you are wasting your time.

If you do not have an SEO friendly blog structure, you might as well not blog at all. Without an SEO friendly blog, the search engines will not see any of your pages.

To increase the popularity of your blog post, promote via your social media channels. If you are not promoting your blog through social media marketing and other means, it may have a lower visibility.

You Can Become an Industry Leader/Expert

Whether you’re a large corporate business or a small family run company, blogging can help turn you into an internet sensation and expert industry leader. Blogging is simply sharing your knowledge and giving helpful tips on business.

Providing expert, valuable information about the industry, products & services will see you becoming the ‘go to’ supplier when people need useful and resourceful information.

Blogging can be useful, especially to smaller business which can offer a more personal approach to blogging. This will help you to gain credibility and help you to become a real competitor for the large corporate businesses.

You will often find your direct competitors begin to follow your blog posts and write about similar topics with similar content. Don’t let this bother you, it’s simply showing you that your information is working and that you’ve become an industry leader!

We hope these tips help you to create good blog material for your company.
