XL Displays Raises Over £114 For Children In Need

On Friday 15th November, our team took a step back in time and came to work in their finest ‘80s themed clothes to raise money for Children In Need.

Our blast-from-the-past dress-down day was accompanied by a bake sale to raise additional funds.

In total, we collected £114.36 which has now been sent off to help change the lives of children around the UK.

The whole team put in an extraordinary amount of effort to get their costumes right, and considering most of the people in the office weren’t around in 19080’s, they all did exceptionally well!

We had a wide range of outfits spanning the entirety of the decade.

Some people chose to come as characters from ‘80s pop culture, including Kerry and Lewis who came a Goose and Maverick from Top Gun, and our production team who came as the A-Team. Mark and Andy came as Mario and Luigi, and we even had Pip who channelled her inner Andy Warhol.

Other members of the team went out thrifting and came dressed in everyday ‘80s clothes. We saw plenty of shell suits and lots of double denim. We even had an ‘80s punk rocker!

It was a great opportunity for people to get creative whilst raising money for charity.

To add to the buzz, we also had a bake sale. People across the office cooked sweet (and savoury) treats which we sold on the day. Dave brought in some cookie cupcakes, Lisa cooked her favourite cookies, and Jo created a Kit Kat cake masterpiece.

Overall, it was a great day that created a bubbly atmosphere in the office which was enjoyed by all. What’s more, we raised lots of money for a very important, worthwhile charity.
