Anchoring Solutions for Outdoor Flags:
Choose from four base options for securing your 4m tall Sail flag. A ground spike for soft ground such as grass, compact soil or sand, a large water base for hard surfaces (our best-seller), a drive-on car foot for forecourts or pavements, or a large cross base with a weighted ring for indoor events. Sustainable Flag Printing:
We produce branded flags in-house, using 110 gsm recyclable polyester knitted fabric. Each flag is equipped with a reinforced, double-stitched elastic pole sleeve (available in black or white) and double-stitched hemmed graphic edges for durability.
Our water-based, solvent-free dye-sublimation inks penetrate the fabric for vibrant, full-colour prints that resist fading, cracking, or peeling in sunlight, rain, or wind, while keeping the flag flexible and true to its shape.
These feather flags are designed with sustainability in mind: they can be machine-washed at 30°C and fully recycled at the end of their life. They are reusable, with replacement graphics available for updating your branding or promotions.
Weather Resistance of Printed Flags:
Constructed from flexible fibreglass poles and lightweight fabric that allows wind to pass through, branded flags perform reliably in typical UK weather. They can withstand moderate rain and winds up to 18 mph (Beaufort Scale 4 – moderate breeze), with the water-resistant fabric and strong aluminium poles helping the flag maintain its shape.
To protect your flag display, we advise taking the flag down during heavy rain, storms, or strong winds. With proper care, your event flags can last between 6–12 months, depending on conditions and frequency of use. For full guidance on storage and maintenance, see our Flag Care Guide.
Aluminium Flag Kit:
The lightweight aluminium flagpole combines strength with durability and is supplied in five sections that slot together securely. Its collapsible design makes it easy to transport in the included carry bag. Aluminium poles are corrosion- and rust-resistant, providing a low-maintenance and long-lasting solution for both indoor and outdoor use.
Delivered in a zip-up carry bag that stores and transports the flagpole pieces, a folded graphic and a ground spike if needed. All other flag bases are transported separately.
Custom Printed Personalised Flags:
Single-sided promotional flags have approximately 80-90% show-through on the reverse side, with the artwork appearing mirrored (backwards). Double-sided flags have a light block liner stitched between two printed graphics, preventing show-through and allowing for different designs on both sides.
We recommend pairing any double-sided flag with the large water base, especially for outdoor use. Holding 30 litres of water, the large water base provides added stability for the additional weight of the double-sided graphic.
Supplying Artwork For Event Flags:
Our free artwork pre-flight service ensures your print-ready files are checked by our in-house design team before production, guaranteeing perfect results every time. Alternatively, you can use our custom-design service and let our designers create a personalised company flag for your brand. A visual proof will be supplied for each printed flag order.

We recently used XL Displays again for the Plantworx 2025 exhibition, and once again, they delivered brilliantly. This time, we ordered two gazebos, control barriers, and sail banners.
