Acoustic wall panels, also known as soundproofing tiles or wall baffles, are insulated boards covered with acoustic fabric. They are designed to minimise sound reverberation in spaces such as offices, meeting rooms, receptions and conference areas through the use of wall panelling. XL Displays sells upholstered decorative acoustic wall panels in a variety of shapes and colours.
Acoustic wall panels are wall-mounted panels covered with a layer of insulation and acoustic fabric. They are designed to minimise sound reverberation and are also known as acoustic panels or wall baffles. Open-plan spaces such as offices, meeting rooms, receptions and conference areas can benefit from the introduction of sound absorbing panels to minimise noise echoing. XL Displays sells acoustic wall panels in a variety of shapes and colours.
How do acoustic wall panels work?
Acoustic wall panels work by minimising the amount of noise reverberation in a space. Reverberation is defined as ‘the reflection of sound off a hard surface’. Soundproofing panels take the place of traditional soft furnishings such as carpets or curtains which typically help to reduce echoes. The construction of these wall panels absorbs sound waves and reduces noise in the areas where they are installed.
What are acoustic wall panels made of?
Acoustic panels are made from an internal board covered with a layer of 18mm-thick insulating foam and finished with a choice of fabric; either MacFlex 182 or Camira Cara fabric - available in a range of different colours. The majority of our acoustic panels are 26mm thick, except for the Tatratak™ modular sound tiles, which is 29mm thick. Both thicknesses have an average NRC of 0.43 (based upon test reports 1306-1040 to 1042 and C/23213/T01).
How to install soundproof wall panels?
You install soundproof wall panels by using either a standard keyhole bracket, or 3M Command™️ Strips. The keyhole bracket requires drill holes, whereas the 3M Command™️ Strips won’t damage your walls when removed, making it easier to move or reconfigure your panels.
