Fire Retardant Noticeboards
Fire retardant noticeboards are recommended for use in areas with over 25 people present at any given time. They adhere to both UK and EU fire safety certifications and therefore are the safest option for schools, hospitals and other public buildings. External Noticeboards
External noticeboards are manufactured specifically for use outdoors. They come in many varieties, including wall mounted and freestanding. Understanding Fire Regulations For Noticeboards
We manufacture a number of fire rated noticeboards within our FlameShield range which fully comply to Class 0 standards. FlameShield noticeboards are certified under both UK and European fire safety standards. This means they are safe for use in public spaces within the UK and Europe.
Fire rated noticeboards are recommended for use within public areas with more than 25 people present at any given time, making them the recommended choice for schools, hospitals, offices, care homes and more.
The British fire safety rating is called BS 476. There are four class ratings under this certification, with class 0 being the highest rated and class 4 being the lowest. FlameShield noticeboards are all rated class 0.
In order to gain a BS 476 classification, there are two tests that are run. The first test involves exposing a naked flame at the front of the noticeboard, and the second test involves igniting a flame on the lower corner of the board.
The results of the two tests are combined to determine the overall spread of a flame and whether or not the noticeboard is a contributing factor to the growth of a fire.
The European fire safety test is called BS EN 13501 and is rated from class A to class F, with class A being the highest rated. FlameShield noticeboards are rated class B.
To our knowledge, there are no UK noticeboard manufacturers who have achieved a rating higher than class B.
BS EN 13501 regulates any potential harmful fumes, smoke and energy that comes off a noticeboard when it is alight.
