What size can 3mm Foamex be?
3mm Printed Foamex is available in popular poster sizes including A4, A3, A2, A1 and A0 as well as printed and cut to any size with a maximum board size of 2400mm x 1200mm. Due to the thickness, we recommend using 3mm Foamex for smaller size panels and keeping it under 1m. As you increase the size of the sheet, you also increase the risk of the panel breaking. For larger panels, we recommend using 5mm Foamex or 10mm Foamex. 

What are the advantages of a Foamex board?
Foamex boards are a low-cost display solutions that are widely used in many industries to promote, advertise and inform. To make Foamex, you compress a PVC foam into a semi-rigid sheet board. 3mm Foamex in particular has a lightweight finish that’s tough and durable. Thanks to its simplicity and its long-wearing construction, Foamex is an extremely cost-effective choice for advertising boards.

How are 3mm Printed Foamex Boards mounted?
3mm Foamex Boards can be mounted in a number of ways. They can be mounted using hook and loop fastening, screws, self-adhesive pads or even Velcro tabs. In addition, thanks to the slim profile, they are light enough to be ceiling hung or framed. If you wish to wall mount using screws, you can drill small holes in the corners of the Foamex boards. We recommend using chipboard screws with a 3 or 4mm shank diameter for best results. A 20mm margin should be left between each hole and the edge of the Foamex sheet with each hole roughly 500mm apart for larger displays. 

Are 3mm Foamex Boards suitable for outdoor use?
The foam board itself is printed using UV ink making it weatherproof and fade-resistant, meaning you can use printed Foamex boards outdoors as well as indoors. However, we do recommend using 5mm Foamex for outdoor signs. Foamex panels are resistant to rot and do not swell when they get wet; like wood does when faced with wet weather. Another advantage of Foamex is that it’s a recyclable, eco-friendly material.

Where can I display Foamex Boards?
This adaptable Foamex display panel can be wall mounted, post mounted or framed, making it an extremely flexible and cost-effective solution. The Foamex is lightweight but extremely durable, and the UV ink printing process means that your board can be safely displayed outside in the elements (securely fixed). As a result, these panels are popular choices for information boards, for sale signs, exhibition panels, store displays, event signage, hoardings and point-of-sale signs. 3mm Foamex is best suited to smaller indoor display panels around 1m x 1m, or smaller.

Are 3mm Foamex Boards fire-rated?
The lightweight 2150gsm 3mm-thick Foamex board panel is BS476 Part 7, 1987 Class 1 Fire Rated. The test produces a fire rating of Class 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending upon how far a flame travels over a surface. This means Class 1 is the best rating as it shows the lowest level of flame spreading. Having a fire-rated display board means you can use it in public areas where such measures are required, such as schools, leisure centres, hospitals and other community buildings.

How are 3mm Foamex Boards delivered?
Our 3mm Foamex panels are shipped with 3-5 working days on a standard courier service. Due to the size of some larger Foamex panels, increased delivery charges may apply due to the size of the board, quantity of panels ordered and geographical location of delivery. How do I supply artwork? 
You can send your print ready artwork via our Artwork Upload page. We offer a free-of-charge artwork checking service for any artwork supplied. Custom Foamex panels are cut specifically to size, therefore we cannot provide a specific print template, but we require artwork to be the same dimensions as your chosen board, with a 5mm bleed at the edge. If you do not have pre-existing artwork, we do offer an in-house design service.
