Make the Most of Your Outdoor Display

The start of summer signals the start of the outdoor exhibition season and you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve got you covered. We have just launched an exciting new outdoor display range – adding lots of new products and lowering our prices on many others.

Our outdoor flags are one of the most visual and striking ways to promote your business outdoors. They come in various shapes and heights. Many of our flags also come with a choice of bases so you can choose one to suit your surface. All of our flags are dye-sublimation printed onto 115g Polyester flag knit fabric.

As you can't rely on the Great British weather we have a range of Printed Gazebos which will keep you covered, whatever the weather, at an outdoor exhibition or event. Our branded marquees are fully printed with your design or logo and are made from waterproof material so you can be sure to stay dry.

Working with our professional graphic design team or using your own artwork, you can create an outdoor display perfect for trade shows, festivals and exhibitions that represents your brand and helps you to stand out from the crowd.

Here are some of our top tips on how to make the most of your outdoor display:

Location, Location, Location

Whether it’s where your stand is located at your local trade show or where your new pavement sign is positioned in the street, outdoor displays should be strategically placed to bring in the most customers. For trade shows a corner spot is the perfect position as you are bringing in customers from two different directions, combine this with a printed gazebo and your brand will be visible from all angles.

In terms of street displays such as pavement signs and café barriers you should research any regulations and laws for your area before using your display. Other than that a double sided display is great as it allows customers approaching from both directions to see your sign and gives you a better chance of customers visiting your store or café.

Top Tip - Keep your outdoor display clean and in good condition, most of our outdoor displays are washable!

Stand Out From the Crowd with Your Design

At a trade show or market with hundreds of other exhibits you have to do something different to stand out, the easiest way to do this is with eye catching design. Think about What? Where? and Why? when designing your outdoor display:

  • What are your specific marketing objectives?
  • Where is your display going to be positioned? (think about future use as well)
  • Why are you using that display? (information, directions, impulse purchases)

It’s recommended to follow your corporate brand style when designing your outdoor display but that doesn’t mean you can’t be creative with it. Fewer but larger words help to catch the eye when people are moving, they don’t have time to read a paragraph of small text at a bustling trade show or busy street. Focus on promoting certain products or new releases – cramming your design with everything you have to offer is an information overload!

If you’re in need of graphic design we provide a service here at XL Displays, our designers will work alongside you to create a display that meets your needs perfectly. The final design will not go to print until you are completely happy with it.

Top Tip – If you provide a wide range of products it’s a good idea to have multiple sets of graphics for your different marketing messages!

Be Prepared for Any Weather

Especially in the UK, you should always be prepared for different weather conditions, the weather can change at any moment and you need to be ready when it does. Whilst your outdoor display is weather resistant – your products may not be, bring a waterproof tarp to cover them over should the weather change for the worst. It is a good idea to plan a procedure to follow if it does start to rain and make sure everyone working the stand is familiar with the plan.

Align your giveaways with the weather, at indoor events a branded pen may be a good idea but outdoors when it’s hot and sunny a branded pair of sunglasses, a hat or a handheld fan will go down much better as you’re providing people with something they need. You can also offer a branded umbrella however this will cost significantly more to produce.

Some of the best things to bring to stay prepared:

  • Sun Cream/Hat/Sunglasses
  • Waterproof Clothing
  • Wellies
  • Waterproof Tarp
  • Jumper
  • Spare Clothing

Top Tip – On a hot day a printed gazebo can be a great place to provide shade, this will bring customers in to your stand and hopefully they’ll purchase from you at the same time!

We hope our tips help you to have a successful outdoor event. For more information about our brand new outdoor display range please contact us or give our team a call on 01733 511030.
