Understanding Outdoor Displays

Posted on 2nd Mar 2012 @ 8:05 AM

When planning an outdoor display, one of the main considerations is our British weather. When thinking of long, hot summer days with strawberries and cream, we must also think of those windy days and the odd downpour of rain. Another consideration is what sort of impact will your display make? You would like your display to stand out from the rest and, with this in mind you must choose the right outdoor display.

Whether you are attending a trade fair, exhibition or any outdoor event that you may wish to use as an advertising platform, it is important that the transportation of your outdoor display does not cause a problem. You may need to choose a lightweight display that packs flat for transporting and is assembled and dismantled quickly and easily.

There are many types of outdoor displays in the marketplace. Depending on your budget, you may wish to use the very economical single pole telescopic flag banner which is designed to withstand wind speeds of approximately 13-18mph [Beaufort Scale 4]. Used at events such as fairs, fates, sporting events, etc, this type of display comes with a pole, banner and base or ground stake, or, if you wish, you could attach to your car. These outdoor displays are collapsible and pack away in a carrying bag. They are very versatile and are very popular.

If you are looking for a lightweight counter, these are available in different sizes and shapes, depending on your style and type of display or advertising. These counters come flat packed and are easily and quickly assembled and can make for a stunning display. The graphics are easily attached to the counter and there is the option of a header banner that can be attached to the counter, which offers the event visitor easy visibility. Many counters have a hollow base that can be filled with water or sand for extra stability.

Another display is the old favourite – the swinging pavement stand. For many, many years these ubiquitous outdoor displays have always been extremely popular and offer double-sided advertising and are made of heavy-duty construction with a hollow base that can be filled with sand or water making them more wind resistant and robust than the A-type outdoor display. For ease of movement these stands are available with wheels to aid manoeuvrability. Many also come with anti-glare covers. Posters or graphics can be changed in seconds and the pavement stands can also come with anti-tamper frames. These are very often seen outside retail outlets.

Also available is the landscape-style outdoor display, which is generally made of aluminium and can be used double-sided, is lightweight and comes flat packed for convenient transportation. The graphics for this type of display are secured to the framework using elastic bungee cords.

When deciding on the graphics for your outdoor display choose those that are the most appealing, good to look at and conveys your message instantly.
